Don’t give up, Get Motivated in 2010!

Yes, the unemployment numbers are still discouraging and freelance projects are few and far between, but what can you do? I know we are all tired of the depressing news the media can have on our day to day challenge of finding a new job or any job at this point.

If you have ever read my Travel Director blog or followed me on Twitter, you know I am a really big fan of Tory Johnson and passionate about sharing her job tips whenever they are relevant to our industry and members. Her recent GMA segment about getting a job in 2010 put a spring in my step and motivated me to start brainstorming. What can I do to help our members get back to work and find more freelance projects? I guess you could say I had my own breakthrough moment when I discovered Tory’s volunteer movement to establish Career Clubs across the US.

That’s when it hit me, INTD needs a career club dedicated to our members that can provide virtual access to a collaborative group that shares advice and provides camaraderie in a serious, positive and motivating environment (from the comfort of home or on the road)! Over the past few weeks our team has been working to develop and launch INTD’s Get Motivated! Career Club.

Join INTD’s Get Motivated! Career Club, online for a live career chat and personal goal setting that will be sure to prepare you for a great and prosperous 2010. Space is limited and members must qualify to be accepted as a participant. Want to know more about joining INTD’s Get Motivated! Career Club? Send an email to careerclub@intdonline.org by February 8th to submit your request to join.

It is no secret our job board and most industry job boards are extremely lean or deserted. However, I refuse to let that deter me or our members and I am committing to pushing forward to help advocate, promote and motive the industry’s most valuable assets - freelance meeting and travel professionals.

Check out Tory’s segment on GMA.
